Microsoft Innovative Teachers Awards, 2010

Be part of the third edition of the Microsoft Innovative Teachers Awards in Nigeria. This global award is designed to recognise and reward teachers who adopt innovative means, by use of ICT in their style of teaching.

The objectives of the award include the creation of an enabling environment for ICT education and inclusion of ICT in education across Nigeria.

HOW TO ENTER : Entry into this award is open to all full and part time primary and secondary school teachers from either private or government owned schools.

The criteria for participation is as follows:

  1. The teacher must explain how he/she uses Information and Communication Technology in an innovative way to improve student outcomes.
  2. Show evidence of outstanding instructional practices.
  3. Demonstrate how his/her teaching has engaged and inspired students, colleagues and the wider community.
  4. The closing date for submission of entries is now by 6pm on May 31, 2010.
  5. Ten finalists will be selected to showcase their presentations on the June 14, 2010.
  6. The entries will be scrutinized by the judges who will select a winner and 2 runners-up; and
  7. Winners will be announced at the final Awards ceremony on the June 15, 2010.

ENTRY GUIDELINES:

  1. All entries must be submitted online using the VCT format. Please click here for template.
  2. Not more than two(2) entries would be received from the same school. In a situation where there are more than 2 entrants from one school, the entrants will be required to submit their entries as a team.
  3. Ten (10) finalists will be short listed from the entries received, by a judging panel made up of Microsoft/SNNG/FME/NERDC and other ICT cum Education professionals.

IMPORTANT: PAST WINNERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER FOR THE COMPETITION.
